Commercial Lock Repair

Busy doors wear out fast. Commercial hardware is built to be serviced, so a repair often beats buying a whole new lock. We work on the doors your staff and customers use every day, from the front entrance to the storeroom.

A commercial mortise lock opened on a workbench beside its lever handle

Busy doors wear out. We fix them.

Repair first

A lock that opens and closes all day long wears out its springs, levers and cylinder long before the body gives out. Worn parts can be swapped and cylinders serviced, which keeps the lock you already paid for in use.

Mortise locks in particular are built for a long life, so a worn one is usually worth rebuilding rather than replacing.

Little disruption

We schedule repairs around your business so customers and staff can keep coming and going, and on-site quotes are free for businesses. Most fixes happen right at the door rather than back at a shop. If a door can’t lock at closing time, tell us when you call so we can plan the safest fix.

When replacement makes sense

If the lock body is cracked, parts are no longer made, or the hardware no longer suits the door, we tell you straight and price a replacement next to the repair, so the choice is yours. If you’re replacing anyway, it can be a good moment to move to restricted keys or a master key system.

How it works

A repair visit, step by step

  1. Tell us the door

Front entrance, back door, office or storeroom, and what the lock is doing.

  2. We inspect

The lock, the cylinder and the door itself all get checked, since a sagging door can ruin a good lock.

  3. Repair or replace parts

Worn springs, levers or cylinders are swapped and adjusted on-site whenever we can.

  4. Test with your keys

We work the lock with your staff’s keys before we leave, so nobody gets a surprise the next morning.

Hardware

Commercial locks we repair

  • Mortise locks

The heavy locks set into the edge of the door, common in offices and older buildings.

  • Cylindrical lever locks

Lever handles on inside and outside doors, which loosen and droop under constant use.

  • Storefront glass-door locks

Narrow locks on aluminum-framed glass doors that take a beating from customer traffic.

  • Worn cylinders and keys

Keys that need a wiggle, and cylinders that grind or stick.

  • Deadbolts and latches

Bolts that won’t extend all the way, and latches that miss the strike.

FAQ

Commercial repair questions

Can you repair one part instead of replacing the whole lock?

Often, yes. Commercial locks are made to be taken apart, so a worn spring, lever or cylinder can usually be replaced on its own.

Can repairs be scheduled so we stay open?

Yes. We plan the work around your busiest times, and most repairs keep the door out of use only briefly. If a door has to stay locked during the work, we tell you before we start.

Why does our storefront lock stick in cold weather?

Cold makes metal shrink and old grease thicken, so a worn lock that barely works in summer starts to bind in an Idaho winter. Servicing the lock, and checking how the door sits in its frame, usually sorts it out.

Can repaired locks keep our current keys?

Usually. Unless you ask for a rekey, we repair the lock so the keys you already have keep working. If a key is badly worn, we can cut fresh copies so the repaired lock runs smoothly.

Do you service locks for property managers with several buildings?

Yes. We work with property managers in Boise, Meridian, Nampa and nearby towns, and can plan repairs at several sites together.

Door lock wearing out? We’ll keep it working.

Describe the door and the problem, and we’ll arrange a free on-site quote or explain the repair cost first, whenever we can.
